Exactly at midnight on Friday, most users of Mozilla Firefox discovered none of their browser add-ons worked. As the company rushed to issue a hot-fix over the weekend – which is available right now for desktop and Android users (version 66.0.4) – the havoc was traced back to one, simple thing: an expired certificate. “Late on Friday May 3, we became aware of an issue with Firefox that prevented existing and new add-ons from running or being installed. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to people who use Firefox,” wrote Kev Needham, Product Manager for add-ons at Mozilla. Confused…
