If you’re trying to get some iOS development done and just can’t get to the tools you need, don’t worry: you’re not alone.

Apple’s Developer Center is down. Hard.

While occasional outages are nothing new, the first mentions of this outage that we can find go back well over 24 hours. That’s longer than any recent outage I can remember, besides the pre-planned Holiday shutdowns or other maintenance periods. While this may be a planned maintenance outage (as the outage page implies), Apple generally gives developers a bit of a heads up before those go down.

To developers, this means being unable to download the iOS or Mac OS X SDKs, and makes development itself a bit more of a pain. To would-be developers, this means being unable to sign up at all (a bit of a bummer, given that we’re about to roll into the weekend).

We’re reaching out to Apple to try and figure out what’s up.
