Researchers at Drexel University’s College of Engineering are working on a special material that will one day provide the capacity for instant battery charging. This is made possible by super-conductive two-dimensional MXene material. The quest for a better battery has been ongoing since Alessandro Volta created the first one over 200 years ago. Now scientists at Drexel are perfecting the concept. Dr. Yuri Gogotsi, who leads the team, says: We demonstrate charging of thin MXene electrodes in tens of milliseconds.
