Flipboard denies losing users’ Google Reader data, but it is experiencing technical issues that will ‘work soon’

Following reports that Flipboard had lost data when on-boarding Google Reader users, the company has come forward to say that a technical issue is to blame — not an import failure:
This should help put the minds of former Google Reader users at ease; now that the service has completely shut down, many die-hards are still searching for the perfect replacement. Flipboard stands to gain quite a bit from Google Reader’s demise; that is, so long as technical difficulties subside.
Here’s the tweet announcing the update:
Your Google Reader feeds and folders are indeed safe. The summary feed is not working yet for some users but this will work soon. Thank you.
