Savings.com has released a new app for iPhone and Android called Favado that collects coupon and sales information from over 65,000 grocery and drugstores in the US to help you save money while shopping.

To get started with the app, open it up, specify your location, and choose the stores you frequent from the list of businesses. Your top stores will show up in a row at the top of the app, allowing you to toggle them on and off depending on what you’re looking for. Deals can be filtered based on top items or pre-specified favorite brands or products.

Navigating around the app can feel a bit clunky, but that’s because Favado comes packed with extra features for so-called “super-couponers.” Casual users can simply pick up Favado to quickly scan for sales, while coupon pros can use the app to create shopping lists and notifications.

Favado crowdsources its data from a group of bloggers that are experts at keeping track of grocery sales and coupons in markets throughout the US. Savings.com touts its database as having 40,000 sale and coupon combinations.

Savings.com President Loren Bendele said in an interview that when the company tested the app in Indiana and Ohio earlier this year, it found that customers were tracking sales with discounts as steep as 50-70 percent (including print coupons) on average.

Favado will generate revenue from affiliate programs with coupon sites. Down the road, the service could partner with brands and retailers directly to provide customers with coupons and offers.

Grocery chains like Safeway are creating their own coupon and deal apps, but being able to pull deals from multiple retailers makes Favado much more handy.

Very few of us would want to be that person in line with the binder full of coupons, but now you can compare prices right from your phone. Favado probably isn’t going to make super-couponing cool anytime soon, but it will save you money.
