Twitter uses machine learning for Hadoop-based analytics, and Whetlab provided a similar service to its clients ahead of this acquisition. Whetlab will end its closed beta program for clients on July 15.
Via its website, Whetlab says “Twitter is the platform for open communication on the internet and we believe that Whetlab’s technology can have a huge and positive impact through it.”
We’ve reached out to Twitter for details on the acquisition, and will update if we hear back.
