Today, the controversial app Stolen! has decided to shut down amidst concerns that the app pushed the line a bit too far by allowing users to buy, sell and trade Twitter profile accounts. Stolen! was a game that allowed users to collect and trade Twitter accounts. It was creepy, but probably could have existed in the grey area if it weren’t for the nicknames feature. If you ‘owned’ an in-game account, you could assign it a nickname which only you could change. The potential for bullying, harrassment and abuse in just this one feature gave most of us a pretty sour feeling…
