Back in the 20th century, the whole point of having a phone number was so that people who needed to reach you could find you. But once phone numbers turned into easy ways for retailers, scammers and pesterers of virtually every stripe and variety to get in your ear and try to take something from you, your phone number likely became a “need to know” item.
